The First Ten Minutes: Fix Your Settings
Most people launch a new game and dive straight into the tutorial. We have learned to spend the first ten minutes in the settings menu instead, and it consistently makes games play better.
Check the control layout and sensitivity first — a lot of games ship with steering or camera speeds that feel wrong until adjusted. Then find the graphics options and pick something sustainable rather than maximum. Your phone and your battery will thank you.
Turn off haptics if they annoy you, and check whether the game supports portrait mode if you prefer one-handed play. Finally, disable any unnecessary notifications so the game stops pestering you later.
It feels like homework, but it takes a few minutes and pays off across every session afterward. A well-configured game simply feels better.
